Chris Eubank was left sobbing over the death of his son Sebastian during Scared of The Dark.

The third oldest of Eubank’s five children died in 2021 from an undiagnosed heart condition while swimming just one week before his 30th birthday and 32 days after his own son was born.

Eubank spent eight days shacked up with the likes of Paul Gascoigne, The Wanted’s Max George and Love Island star Chloe Burrows completely in the dark with emotions immediately running high for the new Channel 4 show presented by Danny Dyer.

During Monday night’s episode, Eubank is asked by comedian Chris McCausland if his son’s death was recent

‘It’s always going to be recent,’ said the boxing legend.

Eubank went on to call his son ‘everything’ and an ‘inspiration’.

‘He was me. Poet, philosopher, lover, protector, a man of love. He was me,’ he told Chris.

‘Things he did, he was magnificent. My son was, is, an inspiration and will always be an inspiration.’

Later in the episode, Eubank spoke to producers in The Vault.

‘Your son…. they never leave you, ever,’ he said. ‘They are always with you. Always.

‘My son Sebastian is much more than I could ever explain to you.

‘The tragedy of losing a son who’s 29, imagine crying that hard, and then months later being grateful that you cried that hard for your son. It wasn’t one tear, it was an ocean.’

A time of Sebastian’s death, Eubank said: ‘Never did I ever on son imagine I would write these words or experience the feeling I now have at the loss of my son.

‘My family and I are devastated to hear of the death of Sebastian just days before his 30th birthday.

‘Sebastian grew up in Hove in England but in the last few years made his life in Dubai where he had a wide circle of friends and was a leader in the adoption of a healthy lifestyle and of alternative therapies.

‘As well as being a personal trainer and boxer, Sebastian was also a deep thinker who liked to challenge accepted wisdom.

‘He was loved and respected by all who knew him and will be forever in the thoughts of friends and family.’

Scared of The Dark continues tonight at 9pm on Channel 4.
